Beef jerky (depending on brand) contains at least 20% protein here 30g portion and 10g protein so very useful high protein snack for anyone on weight loss journey including GLP-1 injections and weight maintenance or weight recovery. What seems to be missing is that it also contains nitrates (the same as in ham and bacon) related to health risk and therefore should be eaten in moderation and infrequently. Many dietetic patients are avoiding ham and bacon and eating jerky beef daily without checking nutritional information on the pack unfortunately which by law has to state nitrates if added in the technological process.
